Frequently Asked Questions

What containers qualify for the $0.05 Iowa deposit refund here?

Most aluminum cans, plastic bottles (soda, water, juice, etc.), and glass bottles carrying the Iowa deposit mark qualify. Containers must be empty, reasonably clean, and kept separate by type (cans, plastics, glass).

Is there a limit on how many containers I can redeem at one visit?

Metro Waste Authority's published materials do not specify a per-visit limit at the Bondurant site. For large commercial quantities, call ahead at 515-244-0021 to confirm procedures.

Is this the same site as the Metro Hazardous Waste Drop-Off?

Yes — the Metro Redemption Center and Metro Hazardous Waste Drop-Off share the same campus at 1105 Prairie Dr SW, Bondurant, IA 50035, though they are separate services with different phone numbers (redemption: 515-244-0021; hazardous waste: 515-967-5512).
