Open Monday through Friday 7 AM–6 PM and Saturday 8 AM–6 PM, it gives Hartsville-area residents a convenient location to recycle newspapers, magazines, plastic bottles (#1 and #2), cardboard, aluminum cans, steel cans, scrap metal, yard waste, used motor oil, cooking oil, electronics, batteries, and textiles — all without an appointment. Tires are not accepted at this convenience center and must be taken to the county's Main Landfill on Great Cypress Road. Glass bottles and jars, plastic bags, and styrofoam are also not accepted at any county recycling center.
