Frequently Asked Questions

Is G-Cor Automotive open to the public for scrap drop-off?

No. G-Cor Automotive is a wholesale industrial operation that buys and sells automotive cores — engines, transmissions, and drivetrain parts — with production remanufacturers and auto recyclers. It is not a public drop-off for general scrap, household recyclables, or junk cars. Residents should use SWACO’s Recycling Convenience Center (2566 Jackson Pike) or the City of Columbus Waste and Reuse Convenience Centers for household recycling.

What does G-Cor Automotive do with the parts it buys?

The company resells engine and drivetrain cores to production remanufacturers in the U.S. and internationally. Aluminum components feed an on-site melting program producing up to 60,000 lbs per day of recycled 380-grade aluminum alloy.

Where can I sell my junk car near 2100 Refugee Rd, Columbus?

Edison Automotive at 1529 McKinley Ave (614-274-1118) buys junk cars for cash with free towing. Pick-N-Pull Columbus also accepts junk vehicles. Both are public-facing salvage operations, unlike G-Cor, which is wholesale-only.
