Frequently Asked Questions
Is Pontotoc Aluminum Recycling a city recycling drop-off?
No. It is a scrap-metal yard that buys metal from the public by weight and grade. It does not accept household trash, glass, plastics, or curbside-style recyclables.
Do they only take aluminum?
Aluminum is a core part of their business, but as a scrap yard they generally buy a range of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Call 662-488-0108 to confirm what they are buying that day.
What are the hours?
Reported hours are Monday through Friday 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, closed Saturday and Sunday. Call to confirm before visiting.
Can I drop off recycling at Home Depot instead for other materials?
Home Depot does run take-back for items like rechargeable batteries and CFL bulbs, but not scrap metal. For metal, a yard like this one is the right place; for household recycling, use a Pontotoc County or municipal program.
