Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need an appointment to use the Springfield Household Chemical Collection Center?

Yes — appointments are required for every visit. Call 417-864-2000 to schedule a Tuesday morning (7–10am) or Thursday afternoon (3–6pm) slot. The first two Saturdays in April and last two Saturdays in October also have Saturday hours with the same appointment requirement.

Does the Springfield HCCC accept old cans of latex paint?

No. Latex (water-based) and acrylic paint are not accepted. The center only takes oil-based paint and stain. Latex paint can often be dried out and disposed of with regular trash, or donated to a paint reuse program like PaintCare.

I live in Christian County — can I use the Springfield HCCC?

Yes. The Household Chemical Collection Center serves residents of Greene, Christian, Polk, Dallas, and Webster counties, not only Springfield city residents. Call 417-864-2000 to book an appointment.
