Recycling in Paragould: A Local Guide
Paragould, the seat of Greene County in northeast Arkansas, has two recycling resources that address different material streams. SA Recycling at 110 E Hunt St is a full-service scrap metal buying yard — part of a national chain with 150+ locations — that pays cash for ferrous and non-ferrous metals, end-of-life vehicles, appliances, auto batteries, and aluminum cans. It's open Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, and requires a valid photo ID for all transactions.
For residents looking to recycle an old smartphone rather than scrap metal, the ecoATM kiosk inside the Walmart Supercenter at 2802 W Kingshighway offers an automated buyback option. The machine evaluates your phone on the spot and pays immediately by cash, Venmo, or PayPal. It accepts cell phones, foldables, and iPods — but not tablets — and requires sellers to be 18 or older with a state-issued photo ID. The kiosk is located at the Customer Service desk inside the store.
Neither location handles standard curbside recyclables like cardboard, glass, or mixed plastics. Paragould residents can contact Greene County solid waste services for information on curbside recycling programs or periodic household hazardous waste events. Nearby recycling options are also available in Jonesboro, Brookland, and Blytheville. See all options across the state at Arkansas recycling centers.
