The Albertville-Boaz Recycling Center on Sand Mountain Drive is a city-operated drop-off serving the Sand Mountain area. It accepts a broad range of household recyclables - newspaper, magazines, junk mail, office and shredded paper, cardboard, aluminum and metal food cans, #1 PET, #2 HDPE and #5 PP plastics, clear/green/brown glass, and clean white packing Styrofoam. It also takes a wide list of electronics (laptops, towers, keyboards, hard drives, printers, fax machines, cell phones) and white goods such as stoves, refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, water heaters and car batteries. Importantly, it does NOT take TVs or computer monitors. The center is open Monday through Saturday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, and runs satellite drop-off points in Horton, Boaz and Geraldine.
